What people are saying about NCS…
Hymers College has had around 40 students go through the NCS Programme in the last twelve months and everyone has remarked on how fantastic the scheme is. It has allowed them to meet youngsters from other schools and opened their eyes to some of the social problems that exist within the city of Hull
David Elstone, Headteacher at Hymers College
My Daughter decided to take part even though she had no friends to go with because she had no friends. She was brave at that moment, she cried after induction day and said she wasn’t doing it, a few hours later she said I am doing it because I’m not letting anxiety stop me anymore. I dropped her off for week 1 and left a scared child. 5 days later I got a person back that I suffered from anxiety for years you gave me back a confident young women.
Wendy Gyarmati, NCS Graduate Parent
I loved the experience, getting to meet new people and develop some friendships and really pushing myself to the limit! I really think that everyone should take part in NCS as you will shock yourself and maybe even discover things you didn’t know you could do. NCS is definitely worth it! I can’t wait to hopefully come back next year as an assistant team leader. Say YES to NCS!

I have loved every minute of my journey. The social action project was amazing. I loved working with children and learning about all the different charities and everything else. I have gained loads more confidence and independence. It was the best thing I’ve ever done in my life.
Alexia Kivlin, Grimsby
It was one of the best experiences of my life, I don’t know where I would be now if I hadn’t done it. I met a group of amazing people that have become my best friends and have gained confidence and life skills that will help me to do a lot more things that I would never have done before.

NCS is a challenging, eye opening and unique programme that changes teenagers into young adults. I really enjoyed the second week as it simulated how enjoyable but difficult the university lifestyle can be at times, but overall, it was an amazing experience and many thanks for letting me be part of it.
